Ontario Veggies — Ontario Veggies Inc., operating in Niagara-on-the-Lake and Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
This policy explains how we fulfil orders and get fresh produce to you. Because we sell perishable vegetables and Music garlic, our fulfilment practices are designed around cold-chain integrity and minimising time between harvest and your hands.
1. Fulfilment Methods
We offer the following fulfilment channels. Not all channels are available for every product or at every time of year.

Pick up your order directly at our farm location in Hamilton, Ontario.
- Address: 6 Footbridge Cres, Brampton, ON L6R 0K5
- Available pickup days and hours: Saturdays 9 am – 1 pm, or by appointment
- Order cut-off: orders must be placed by Thursday at noon for the following Saturday pickup
- Bring your order confirmation. Orders not collected within 2 hours of your scheduled time may be held or released, as perishable goods cannot wait indefinitely.
1b. Farmers’-Market Pickup
We attend select local farmers’ markets and partner garden shops on scheduled market days. You may reserve items in advance for collection at our market stand.
- Market locations: select local farmers’ markets (see our website or social media for the current schedule)
- Market days/hours: Tuesdays and Saturdays, 7 am – 2 pm
- Order cut-off for market reservations: the day before market day at 6 pm
- Reserved items not collected by 30 minutes before market close may be released for walk-in sale. See our Cancellation Policy for refund treatment.
1c. Local Delivery
We offer local delivery within the Hamilton and Niagara areas.
- Delivery fee: $X flat fee / free over $Y / by distance tier
- Delivery days: Thursdays and Fridays
- Order cut-off for local delivery: Tuesday at noon for that week’s delivery run
- Deliveries are made between approximately 10 am – 5 pm on the scheduled day. We cannot guarantee a precise delivery time within that window.
- We will attempt to notify you by email or WhatsApp when your order is out for delivery.
1d. Shipping / Courier (Non-Perishable or Shelf-Stable Items Only)
We do not currently offer courier or mail shipping; perishable produce is sold for local pickup and delivery only.
2. Perishable Goods & Cold Chain
All of our fresh vegetables and garlic are perishable. We take the following steps to protect product quality during fulfilment:
- Orders are packed close to the scheduled pickup or delivery time to maximise freshness.
- Where cooling is required, products are stored at appropriate temperatures until handoff. Perishable produce is kept cool and handled promptly during local pickup and delivery.
- We are responsible for cold-chain integrity up to the point of delivery or pickup. Once the product is in your hands, responsibility for proper storage passes to you.
If you notice a quality issue at or immediately after pickup/delivery, refer to our Refund & Return Policy and report within the stated window.
3. Delivery Windows and Scheduling
- We will communicate your estimated delivery date at time of order confirmation.
- Delivery schedules may shift due to harvest timing, weather, road conditions, or other farm-operation factors. We will notify you of any significant delay as soon as practicable.
- If you need to reschedule a delivery, please contact us at office@ontarioveggies.com no later than 24 hours before your scheduled delivery date. Late rescheduling requests are subject to availability.
4. Missed Deliveries
If a delivery attempt is made and no one is available:
- Safe drop: If you have provided a safe-drop location (e.g., a shaded porch, cooler) in your order notes, we will leave the produce there. Risk passes to you at the point of drop, and we are not liable for quality deterioration if the product is not retrieved promptly.
- No safe drop available: We will attempt to contact you to arrange re-delivery or pickup. If a delivery cannot be completed, we will arrange one further attempt; additional attempts may incur a fee. If we cannot reach you and the produce would perish before a second attempt, we may be unable to fulfil the order and will issue a refund less any direct costs incurred, in accordance with our Refund & Return Policy.
5. Risk of Loss / Transfer of Title
Risk of loss or damage passes to you upon delivery to your stated delivery address, or upon pickup at the farm-gate or market stand, whichever occurs first. If a third-party courier is used (see section 1d), risk passes when the goods are tendered to the carrier. We recommend ensuring someone is available to receive perishable deliveries promptly.
6. Order Confirmation and Tracking
After placing an order you will receive a confirmation email at the address provided. We do not currently send SMS text messages; order updates are sent by email or WhatsApp.
7. Availability and Substitutions
Our produce is grown on a seasonal schedule. Items shown on the website or listed for pre-order are subject to availability.
- If a specific item becomes unavailable after you have ordered (e.g., crop failure, weather damage), we will contact you to offer a substitute of equal or greater value or a full refund.
- We will not substitute without your consent.
